Presented by the Tennessee Wireless Association, the annual Jon E. Hastings Memorial Golf Tournament took place at the Nashville Golf & Athletic Club on Tuesday, September 1.

This year's tournament raised more than $40,000 to help cancer survivors. Thanks to everyone who participated. We can't wait to see you all on the green this year!

Presented by The Sarah Cannon Cancer Center at Parkridge Medical Center, Wine & Pearls was an evening of jazz, wine tasting, delicious hors d'oeuvres, and a fabulous silent auction all to benefit PearlPoint Cancer Support. The sixth annual event took place at 6 p.m., Friday, April 24 at Chattanooga’s Hunter Museum of American Art. While tasting several varieties of wine, guests enjoyed the gorgeous view of the Tennessee River and got a glimpse of the museum’s exhibitions.

During cancer treatment it is common for food and drinks to smell or taste differently than they did before starting treatment. Cancer treatments such as chemo and radiation to the head and neck can also cause sore mouth making eating difficult. With just a few simple changes to your food choices and eating habits, you can manage these side effects so you can continue to get the nutrition you need and feel well during cancer treatment.

Valvoline Instant Oil Change Go Pink Campaign

The Wilma Rudolph Valvoline in Clarksville, TN went pink for breast cancer awareness month! The employees wore pink uniforms and the building was painted pink for October. In addition, all the Valvoline facilities in Clarksville and Oak Grove, KY donated $4.00 from every oil change to the Sarah Cannon Fund all month long. The "pink" facility also hosted a cook-out on October 17th where everyone came out to enjoy the hot dogs and hamburgers and make a donation to the campaign. The campaign ended up raising a whopping $12,469 in all to benefit PearlPoint Cancer Support!

Ladies Rock Band Experience Camp
September 26-28, 2014
Presented by Women Rock for Charity
 

The Ladies Rock Band Experience Camp presented by Women Rock for Charity took place September 26-28, 2014 and it was the best ladies rock camp to date!  The campers had a blast and the instructors were amazing. After the campers wowed the audience at the final performance at the Pour House in Nashville, TN, the professionals took the stage and created a jamming experience. There were 4 cancer survivors among the campers and musicians and it was an emotional dedication to everyone who has been impacted by cancer. A third of the proceeeds went directly to support cancer survivors through the services offered by PearlPoint Cancer Support. Don't miss the camp camp scheduled for spring 2015!

The 2014 Jon E. Hastings Memorial Golf Tournament was held on Tuesday, August 26th at Nashville Golf and Athletic Club to benefit PearlPoint Cancer Support. Thank you to everyone that came out to the green! It was a beautiful day to play some golf and raise some money in memory of Jon E. Hastings, a dear colleague and friend of the Tennessee Wireless Association who passed away from cancer.

Show Dog-Universal Music & Country Music Is Love Host 2nd Annual Fan Appreciation Party

Show Dog – Universal Music, in conjunction with Country Music Is Love, hosted their second annual Fan Appreciation Party the week of CMA Music Fest on Thursday, June 5, 2014 from 3-5 p.m. at the Silver Dollar Sallon in Nashville, TN with proceeds benefitting Dreams With Wings and the Sarah Cannon Fund. The Sarah Cannon Fund supports the efforts of PearlPoint Cancer Support and its mission to create a more confident cancer journey for adults anytime, anywhere. Support of the Fund enables the continuation of quality, innovative services for those impacted by cancer, with a special focus on promoting the awareness of and education around clinical trials.

The event featured performances by Josh Thompson, JT Hodges, Krystal Keith, Joel Crouse, and Native Run.

Denise Jernigan Breast Cancer Benefit

The Denise Jernigan Breast Cancer Benefit was held on Monday, June 2, 2014 from 6-10 p.m. at the Nashville Hard Rock Cafe to benefit both PearlPoint Cancer Support and the family of Denise Jernigan. After 10 years, Denise lost her fight with breast cancer in October 2013. Guests enjoyed performances from a variety of country music artists as well as a silent auction including country music cds and memorabilia.

The Grand Ole Opry celebrated the life of one of its most iconic members, Minnie Pearl, with a special show benefiting The Minnie Pearl Cancer Foundation* in honor of the beloved comedienne’s 100th birthday. The show featured performances and remembrances by Amy Grant, Opry members Vince Gill, Mel Tillis, Pam Tillis, Jimmy Dickets, comedians Henry Cho, Anita Renfroe, T. Bubba Bechtol, and more.
