11th Annual Jon E. Hastings Memorial Golf Tournament

Presented by the Tennessee Wireless Association, the annual Jon E. Hastings Memorial Golf Tournament took place at the Nashville Golf & Athletic Club on Tuesday, September 1.

This year’s tournament raised more than $40,000 to help cancer survivors. Thanks to everyone who participated. We can’t wait to see you all on the green this year!

Join with Felice Apolinsky, LCSW Program Director of Gilda’s Club Nashville to explore some stress reduction tips and techniques to help you feel more in control, to help quiet your mind, and to help manage anxiety. Presented by The Sarah Cannon Cancer Center at Parkridge Medical Center, Wine & Pearls was an evening of jazz, wine tasting, delicious hors d’oeuvres, and a fabulous silent auction all to benefit PearlPoint Cancer Support. The sixth annual event took place at 6 p.m., Friday, April 24 at Chattanooga’s Hunter Museum of American Art. While tasting several varieties of wine, guests enjoyed the gorgeous view of the Tennessee River and got a glimpse of the museum’s exhibitions.

With just a few simple changes to your food choices and eating habits, you can manage these side effects so you can continue to get the nutrition you need and feel well during cancer treatment.

Webinar- Chronic Myeloid Leukemia: Just The Facts

Chronic Myeloid Leukemia (CML) is a slowly progressing disease in which too many white blood cells are made in the bone marrow. According to the National Cancer Institute 6,660 people will be diagnosed with CML this year.

In this webinar, Gail Sperling, MPH, CHES, Senior Manager of the Information Resource Center(IRC) at The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) reviews how CML is diagnosed, the treatment options available, the monitoring of treatment response, side effects, and treatment adherence. Resources for additional information, emotional support, and financial support will also be provided.

Margaret Martin RD, MS, LDN, CDE Nutrition Educator at PearlPoint Cancer Support will also share tips and suggestions for managing the side effects of CML treatments.
