New Cancer Treatments Approved in 2016

January 11, 2017

In 2016 the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved 19 new cancer treatments for many different types of cancer. Additionally, many more clinical trials are ongoing. This is a great reason to celebrate! Improvements in cancer care depend on clinical trials. All new cancer treatments must go through the clinical trial process to receive FDA approval. This process ensures that treatments are safe and effective. All the current treatments used for cancer were once investigated through a clinical trial.
